Having, Night, before, Game, soccer

Question by Gina B: Having sex the night before a big soccer game?

I think this is a myth, but my bf says he cannot have sex the night before any of his soccer games because it makes him play bad. Is this really something to believe in? Any other time we are ok but not before games, ever. Matter of fact sometimes 2 days before. Has anyone else heard of this, and how did you deal with it?
I never said I did not respect his wishes I just had never heard of it and wondered.
